God's promises in song are among the most powerful tools you could
have to fight the fight of faith.
When Jehoshaphat was faced with utter destruction from his enemies
he turned to God in a marked way. In going out to battle he "appointed
singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness,
as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD;
for his mercy endureth for ever." II Chronicles 20: 21.
Notice how the singers went out before the army. This was to show
how we are to depend upon God's power and not our own in the battle
against sin, Echoing in the minds of the people was the thought:
"Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand
ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you,... for the
LORD will be with you."..."for the battle is not yours, but God's."
II Chronicles 20: 17,15.
If you want to equipe you and your family for success in the walk
to eternal life then God's Word in song may prove to be one of
the greatest blessings you could ever dream of. |
